Connecting Oxford’s Aspiring Quants

What is quantitative finance?

Quantitative finance exists at the intersection of mathematics, technology, and finance. It is a lucrative field that adopts mathematical models and large datasets, in order to provide high-quality financial analysis. Professionals in this field may work in numerous specialised roles, such as analysts, researchers, traders, or developers – such workers are amiably labelled ‘quants’.

The Oxford Quant Society (or Quantitative Finance Society) is the University’s hub for all students curious about entering the dynamic sector of quantitative finance. Founded by four mathematics students, our aim is to provide aspiring quants with the knowledge, insights, and skillset needed for successful careers as quants.
